The short answer
Volleyball betting means staking money on who wins a match, how many sets it takes, or how many points are scored. Indoor matches are best of five sets, played to 25 points with a 15-point fifth set. A match can't end level, so the main market has two outcomes and no draw.

Who wins the match?
Pick the team that wins three sets. There's no draw to think about.
Check recent form against the same level of opponent, as leagues vary a lot.
By how many sets?
At -1.5 sets the favourite must win 3-0 or 3-1. At +1.5 the underdog can lose 3-2 and the bet still wins.
Evenly matched sides often go to four or five sets.
Over or under the line?
Add every point in the match and compare it with the line. A fifth set can push a total well over.
The number of sets decides most totals, so think about that first.
3-0, 3-1 or 3-2?
Pick the exact result in sets. It's harder to get right than the winner and pays more.
Keep stakes small, as there are six possible results.

Winner or total points for one set on its own.
Sets are short, so the serving and blocking match-up counts for a lot.
02Format
Every handicap and total comes from these numbers. Beach volleyball is different, so check which one you're betting on.
Indoor teams have six on court and rotate positions each time they win the serve back.
Each rally gives a point to the side that wins it, whoever served.
First to 25 with a two-point lead. There's no cap, so a set can run past 25.
The deciding set is first to 15, still with a two-point lead.
A side can touch the ball three times before it must cross the net.
Pairs play to 21 points, with a third set to 15 if it's needed.
03Settlement
A set has no points cap, so 25-23 can become 31-29 if neither side gets two clear. Those points all count toward a total, which is why a close match can beat a line that looked safe.
If a match is abandoned or a team withdraws, the result depends on the market. The betting rules cover each case, so read them if a game is cut short.
04In-play
Prices shift rally by rally, and they move most at the end of a set.
A strong server can win several points in a row before the other side gets the ball back.
Once a side reaches 24 they need one more rally to win a set, and the set's price narrows quickly.
A coach resting starters after a set is won can change how the next set goes.
Going a set up is worth a lot in the price, but evenly matched sides often come back.
