Kabaddi betting

Kabaddi betting, raid by raid

The short answer

Kabaddi betting means staking money on a kabaddi match: who wins, by how many points, how many points are scored, or which raider scores most. Most betting is on the Pro Kabaddi League, where a match is two halves of 20 minutes. League games can end in a tie, so check whether the match market includes one. On KhelKing you can bet before the match or live.

At a glance

  • A Pro Kabaddi match is two 20-minute halves with seven players a side on the mat.
  • League-stage games can finish level. Playoff games can't, because a tie-breaker decides them.
  • Raid points, tackle points, bonus points and all-outs all add to the score, and an all-out is worth two extra points.
  • Top raider and total points markets depend heavily on which raiders start, so check the line-ups.
  • Pro Kabaddi League

Twelve teams, usually played in the second half of the year.

  • 40 minutes

Two halves of 20 minutes with a short break between them.

  • 30-second raids

Each raid is short, so the score and the prices move constantly.

  • Ties happen

League games can end level. Check how the market treats a tie.

Key takeaways

  1. Most KhelKing kabaddi betting is on the Pro Kabaddi League, where a match is two halves of 20 minutes.
  2. Pro Kabaddi League stage games can end in a tie, while the playoffs use a tie-breaker.
  3. Raiders score a point per defender touched, and an all-out earns two extra points.
  4. Kabaddi prices update raid by raid and pause after big moments such as a super raid.

01Markets

The kabaddi markets you'll see most

Match winner and total points cover most of the betting. Player markets come down to the raiders and defenders in the starting seven.

  • Match winner

    Who wins the match?

The main kabaddi market. In league games a tie is possible, so the market may list it as a third outcome at a big price.

Check the market rules for what happens to your bet if the match ends level.

  • Handicap

    By how many points?

The favourite gives up points. At -4.5, they need to win by five or more for the bet to win.

Close teams in the middle of the table often finish within a few points.

  • Total points

    Over or under the line?

Add both teams' scores and compare them with the line, such as 72.5. All-outs and super raids can push a total over fast.

Two strong raiding sides against weak defences tend to suit the over.

  • Half markets

    Who leads at half-time?

Winner, handicap or total for the first or second half on its own. It's the kabaddi version of a session bet.

Some sides start fast and fade. The first half is where you can bet on that.

  • Top raider

Who scores the most raid points?

Pick the raider with the most raid points in the match. A team's lead raider takes most of its raids, so they usually head the market.

Wait for the starting seven. A lead raider on the bench changes everything.

  • Top defender

    Who makes the most tackles?

Pick the defender with the most tackle points. Corners and covers who tackle often lead the way.

Keep stakes small. Tackle points are spread thinly across a defence.

02Scoring

How are points scored in kabaddi?

Every total, handicap and player market is built on these points, so they're worth knowing before you bet.

  • 1 per defender

    Touch point

The raider touches a defender and gets back over the midline. Each defender touched is out.

  • 1

    Bonus point

The raider crosses the bonus line with six or seven defenders on the mat.

  • 1

    Tackle point

The defenders stop the raider getting back. The raider is out.

  • 2

    Super tackle

A tackle made with three or fewer defenders on the mat.

  • 3 or more

    Super raid

A single raid that scores three points or more.

  • 2 extra

    All-out

Every player on one side is out. The other team gets two extra points and the side comes back on in full.

A raid lasts 30 seconds. After two empty raids in a row, the next one is a do-or-die raid: the raider has to score or they're out.

03Settlement

Can a kabaddi match end in a tie?

League games yes, playoffs no

In the Pro Kabaddi League stage, a match level at full time stays a tie, and both teams take points from it. In the playoffs, a tie-breaker of extra raids decides the winner, so there's always a result.

That matters for match winner bets. If the market lists the tie as an outcome, a bet on either team loses when the game ends level. If it doesn't, the market rules decide what happens. The betting rules cover each case, so check before a close game.

04In-play

What should you watch when betting live?

Prices change raid by raid. Markets pause briefly after an all-out or a super raid, then reopen at the new price.

  • All-outs

An all-out swings the score by at least two points and resets the losing side. Expect the price to jump right after one.

  • Do-or-die raids

After two empty raids in a row, the third must score or the raider is out. These raids are where tackles pile up.

  • Players on the mat

A side down to two or three players is close to an all-out, but it can also land a super tackle worth two points.

  • The last few minutes

Teams protecting a lead slow the game down with safe raids. A small lead late on is harder to overturn than it looks.

To close a position before the final whistle, lay the side you backed at the current price. The live betting guide explains how.

Kabaddi betting questions

Can't find your answer? Our support team is online 24/7.

01

Which kabaddi markets can I bet on?

Match winner, handicap, total points, first and second half markets, top raider and top defender. They're open before the match and live, mainly for the Pro Kabaddi League and international kabaddi.

02

Can a kabaddi match end in a tie?

In the Pro Kabaddi League stage, yes. Both teams take points from a tied game. In the playoffs a tie-breaker decides the winner, so there's always a result. Check the market rules for how a tie affects your bet.

03

Can I bet on kabaddi live?

Yes. Prices update raid by raid, and markets pause briefly after big moments such as an all-out or a super raid before reopening.

04

How are points scored in kabaddi?

Raiders score a point for each defender they touch and a bonus point for crossing the bonus line. Defenders score a point for each tackle, or two for a super tackle with three or fewer on the mat. Putting the whole opposing side out earns two extra points.

05

How do I work out what a kabaddi bet pays?

Multiply your stake by the decimal odds. ₹500 at 1.75 returns ₹875, which is ₹375 profit.

06

Can I close a kabaddi bet before the match ends?

On the exchange you can lay the side you backed at the current price to close your position while the match is live, as long as there's a price available.

07

How long is a kabaddi match?

A Pro Kabaddi match is two halves of 20 minutes with a short break between them. With timeouts and reviews, a match takes just under an hour.
