WPL betting

WPL betting, made for fans of the women's game

The short answer

WPL betting means staking money on something that happens in a Women's Premier League match or season: the winner, runs in the powerplay, a player's score, or which team lifts the trophy. Every WPL match on KhelKing has pre-match markets and live markets that update ball by ball, on the same ID you use for the IPL.

At a glance

  • Your KhelKing ID covers the WPL as well as the IPL. You don't need a separate account.
  • Five teams play each other twice. The top team goes straight to the final.
  • WPL totals are usually lower than IPL totals, so don't carry IPL lines across.
  • Overseas players carry a lot of weight in WPL line-ups. Check who's available before you bet.
  • Five teams

A double round-robin, then an Eliminator and the final.

  • 20 overs a side

About three and a half hours a match, with live prices throughout.

  • About a month

A short season, so form and momentum count for a lot.

  • Most popular

Match odds and player runs take most of the betting.

Key takeaways

  1. The WPL has five teams, and each plays the others twice in the league stage.
  2. The top WPL team goes straight to the final, while second and third meet in an Eliminator.
  3. WPL totals are usually lower than the IPL's, so IPL lines don't carry across.
  4. The WPL season lasts about a month, and every match runs on the same KhelKing ID you use for the IPL.

01Markets

The WPL markets fans bet on most

The same markets as the IPL, but the lines are set for the women's game. Five settle within a match, and outrights run to the final.

  • Match odds

    Who wins the match?

Back the team you think will win. A tie goes to a Super Over, so there's always a winner.

Prices often move after the toss and the playing XIs.

  • Toss winner

    Who calls it right?

A bet on which captain wins the coin toss. It settles before the first ball.

It's a coin flip, so keep the stake small.

  • Powerplay runs

How many in the first six overs?

Over or under a line for runs in the powerplay. WPL lines sit lower than IPL ones.

Compare the line with recent WPL powerplays, not the IPL.

  • Player runs

    How many will she score?

Yes and No lines on a batter's score, plus top batter for each side.

Batting position matters. Openers face the most balls.

  • Top bowler and wickets

    Who takes the most?

Lines on a bowler's wickets and the top bowler for each team.

Spinners take a lot of wickets in the middle overs, so don't only look at the quicks.

  • Season outrights

    Who wins the whole thing?

The champion, the Orange Cap for the top run-scorer and the Purple Cap for the top wicket-taker.

With only five teams, outright prices are shorter than in the IPL.

How does WPL betting work?

Pick a market and you'll see a decimal price. If your bet wins, you get your stake times that price, so ₹500 at 1.80 returns ₹900.

Live prices change ball by ball and pause for a few seconds after a wicket or a review. KhelKing is an exchange, so you can also lay a team to lose, or lay the side you backed to lock in a profit.

02Format

How is the WPL tournament structured?

Five teams play a double round-robin. Finishing top is worth a lot, because that team skips the Eliminator and waits in the final. Its outright price shortens sharply once first place looks safe.

How the WPL is decided
  1. League stage

    Five teams, eight games each

Every team plays the other four twice. Fourth and fifth are out.

  2. Eliminator

    2nd v 3rd

One match. The winner goes to the final.

  3. Final

    1st v Eliminator winner

Decides the champion, the Orange Cap and the Purple Cap.

03Side by side

How is WPL betting different from IPL betting?

Lower totals, a smaller table and teams that meet more often. Read the lines on their own terms.

04Before the toss

What should I check before betting on a WPL match?

Five things that move WPL prices

  • The confirmed playing XIs, especially which overseas players are in.
  • The toss result, and whether the winner chose to bat or bowl.
  • The pitch report. Slower pitches bring spinners into the game.
  • The weather and the chance of rain.
  • Dew in evening games, which usually helps the side batting second.

05Rain

What happens to WPL bets if rain shortens a match?

Result or no result

Match odds follow the official result, including a DLS result in a shortened game. If the match is abandoned with no result, match bets are usually void and your stake comes back.

Session and player bets only stand if the overs they cover were bowled. The betting rules cover every case.

07FAQ

WPL betting questions

Can't find your answer? Our support team is online 24/7.

01

Which WPL markets can I bet on?

Match odds, the toss, powerplay and session runs, player runs and wickets, top batter and top bowler, and season outrights such as the champion, Orange Cap and Purple Cap.

02

Can I bet on WPL matches live?

Yes. Prices update ball by ball, and markets pause for a few seconds after a wicket, a boundary or a review before reopening.

03

How many teams play in the WPL?

Five. Each team plays the other four twice in the league stage. The top team goes straight to the final, and the second and third teams play an Eliminator for the other place.

04

How is the WPL different from the IPL for betting?

There are fewer teams, so sides meet more often and outright prices are shorter. Totals are usually lower, so IPL lines don't carry across. The season is about a month long instead of two.

05

How quickly are WPL bets paid?

Winnings go to your balance as soon as the result is official. You can then withdraw to your bank account or UPI ID.

06

What happens to WPL bets if it rains?

Match odds follow the official result, including a DLS result in a shortened match. If the match is abandoned with no result, match bets are usually void and stakes come back.

07

Do I need a separate ID for the WPL?

No. One KhelKing ID covers the WPL, the IPL, international cricket, other sports and the casino.
