Indian card games

Teen Patti, Andar Bahar & how to play

The short answer

Indian card games are short live casino games where you bet on one outcome per round. Teen Patti pays the higher of two three-card hands and Muflis the lower one. In Andar Bahar you pick the pile that gets the joker's match, in Dragon Tiger the higher single card, in Lucky 7 low, high or a seven, and in 32 Cards the player with the top total. All six are games of chance.

At a glance

Key takeaways

  1. A trail of three aces is the best hand in Teen Patti, and Muflis turns the rankings upside down.
  2. In Andar Bahar, the side that gets the first card matching the joker's rank wins.
  3. In Dragon Tiger, a tie usually costs Dragon and Tiger bets half the stake.
  4. A seven comes up about 8% of the time in Lucky 7.
  5. All six Indian card games on KhelKing are games of chance.

01The games

What are the main Indian card games?

Six live tables in the KhelKing casino. Each one asks a single question per round, and the rules below show how it's answered.

02Rules

How do you play each game?

Bets go in before the deal. Payouts and side rules can differ slightly from table to table.

Teen Patti: how to play

You bet on: Which of two three-card hands ranks higher

The dealer deals two three-card hands, Player A and Player B, and you bet on the one that ranks higher. Both main bets pay close to even money. When two hands are the same type, the one with the higher cards wins. A-K-Q is the top sequence, and most tables rank A-2-3 second.

  1. 1Trail (set)Three cards of the same rank
  2. 2Pure sequenceThree in a row, all one suit
  3. 3Sequence (run)Three in a row, mixed suits
  4. 4Colour (flush)One suit, not in a row
  5. 5PairTwo cards of the same rank
  6. 6High cardNone of the above

Hands are listed from strongest to weakest.

Muflis Teen Patti

You bet on: Which of two three-card hands ranks lower

Muflis uses the same deal and the same hand types as Teen Patti, but the order is reversed and the lowest hand wins. The best hand is a plain low high-card hand such as 2-3-5 in mixed suits. A trail, the strongest hand in normal Teen Patti, is the worst.

Andar Bahar: how to play

You bet on: Which side the matching card lands on

The dealer places one card face up in the middle. This is the joker. You bet on Andar or Bahar, then cards are dealt to the two sides in turn until one matches the joker's rank. The side that gets the match wins.

Each side wins about as often as the other. The side that's dealt first has a slight edge, so it usually pays a little less than the other side.

Dragon Tiger: how to play

You bet on: Dragon, Tiger or a tie

One card goes to Dragon and one to Tiger, and the higher card wins. Aces are low, kings are high and suits don't count. You bet on Dragon, Tiger or a tie.

Dragon
Near even money
Tiger
Near even money
Tie
Pays much more

When the two cards tie, Dragon and Tiger bets usually lose half the stake. Some tables handle ties differently, so check the table's rules before you play.

Lucky 7: how to play

You bet on: Low (A to 6), high (8 to K) or exactly 7

One card is drawn. You bet that it's low (ace to 6), high (8 to king) or exactly 7. Low and high pay close to even money and both lose when a 7 comes up. A bet on the 7 pays much more because it lands far less often.

With a standard 52-card deck, 24 cards are low, 24 are high and 4 are sevens.

32 Cards: how to play

You bet on: Which of four players ends with the highest total

The game uses a 32-card deck, 6 through king in each suit. Four players start on 8, 9, 10 and 11 points. Each draws a card and adds its value: 6 to 10 count at face value, a jack is 11, a queen 12 and a king 13. The highest total wins, and players who tie for the top draw again.

  • Player 88Wins least often, pays most
  • Player 99Starting points
  • Player 1010Starting points
  • Player 1111Wins most often, pays least

The higher a player starts, the more often they win and the less they pay. Player 11 is the favourite and Player 8 the long shot.

03Compare

How do the games compare?

What you bet on in each game and roughly how the bets pay.

04Before you play

What should I know before I play?

Every result is chance. Past rounds don't change the next card, and each bet carries a built-in margin for the house. No system beats that over time.

Set your stake first. Pick a stake and a spending limit before you sit down. These tables use the same KhelKing ID and balance as your sports bets, and support can add a deposit limit in one message.

Card game questions

Can't find your answer? Our support team is online 24/7.

01

How do you play Teen Patti?

The dealer deals two three-card hands, Player A and Player B. You bet on which one ranks higher. Both main bets pay close to even money.

02

What is the highest hand in Teen Patti?

A trail of three aces. After trails come the pure sequence, the sequence, the colour, the pair and the high card.

03

What is Muflis Teen Patti?

Teen Patti with the rankings turned upside down. The lowest hand wins, so 2-3-5 in mixed suits is the best hand and a trail is the worst.

04

How does Andar Bahar work?

A joker card is turned face up, then cards are dealt in turn to Andar and Bahar. The side that gets the first card matching the joker's rank wins.

05

What happens on a tie in Dragon Tiger?

Tie bets win at much higher odds. Dragon and Tiger bets usually lose half the stake, though table rules can differ.

06

What are the odds of drawing a 7 in Lucky 7?

About 8% with a standard 52-card deck, because 4 of the 52 cards are sevens. Low and high each come up about 46% of the time.

07

Can I play these games on my KhelKing ID?

Yes. Indian card games are part of the KhelKing live casino and use the same login and balance as your sports bets.

08

Is there a strategy that wins at Teen Patti or Andar Bahar?

No. These are games of chance with a margin built into every bet, and past results don't change the next card. Decide on a stake and a spending limit before you sit down.
